Valedora is a display typeface inspired by street signs of “Mexican Blackletter”. Mexico’s interpretation of the Blackletter with its robust, irreverent, and unpredictable shapes speaks of inherent qualities of Mexican culture: diversity and contrast. The objective of this typography is to evoke that game of expression, strength and contrast, linking the manual reinterpretation of street signs with formal characteristics of Rotunda Gothic calligraphy and bringing it to a functional and contemporary typographic system.
