Hi! I'm Ceci, I’m a Mexican Type Designer and Calligrapher based in Barcelona. My work is shaped by a deep interest in craftsmanship and cultural heritage, often moving between tradition and contemporary type design.

My journey with letters began through my passion for calligraphy. In my work, the analog is always present: drawing, writing, sketching, and anything that involves a brush, ink, and a desk full of papers.

Beyond being a little obsessed with letters, I also feel deeply connected to my country, Mexico. Its history, traditions, and visual culture are an endless source of inspiration for me.

I’m interested in exploring this heritage through letterforms. My path and perspective on type are deeply influenced by it, I respect it, I treasure it, and I try to honor that heritage through my work.

I hold a Master’s degree from TypeMedia at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK), and diplomas with Distinction from TypeParis, Tipo G and EINA in Barcelona. 

In 2023 I was named one of the TDC Ascenders by the Type Directors Club in New York. In 2025, together with Felix Bamforth, I co-founded Beam Type, a creative practice specialized in type design and creative coding.
